Consultant – Consumer Credit

We are looking for a compliance consultant with strong experience to deliver high quality regulatory advice to clients in the specialist areas of consumer credit.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide high quality advice and support to clients on a range of regulatory compliance matters
  • Partner with the client to clearly understand their needs and to provide best possible solutions for the client’s consideration
  • Supporting client engagement lead
  • Day-to-day running of client projects and engagements, often with multiple workstreams. This includes project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource management and project close-down.
  • Preparation of underlying materials, leading/participation in workshops or trainings
  • Responding to ad-hoc and routine regulatory queries
  • Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients. This may include:
    • responding to all queries, managing client expectations and delegating work, where necessary
    • reviewing the work of colleagues and providing constructive feedback
    • dealing with any complaints quickly and effectively
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with clients, trade bodies and the regulator(s) to support the sales process

 

Required experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience gained as a practitioner or consultant
  • Technical expertise: practical knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act and the FCA Consumer Credit Sourcebook (CONC) in various sectors
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage teams to deliver high quality work on time and to budget
  • Proficient stakeholder management and communication skills with an ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and a broad range of individuals and teams across various disciplines
  • Experience working with senior management in project/scope management, reporting on project status, issue escalation and risk management
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of business processes
  • Analytical and creative thinking
  • Ability to manage several conflicting activities at once and effectively prioritise them
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
